From the Mission head east and cross the pedestrian bridge over the rush and roar of the 101 freeway, and then you will be in the neighbourhood of Potrero Hill. Lots of steep hills here so lots of great city views...
From this angle it looks like the vehicles are appearing from and descending straight into the water.

Lombard Street in Russian Hill is always referred to as the "crookedest street", but Vermont between 20th and 22nd is pretty twisty. Here is one of the hairpin curves.
After all those hills you will want to relax with a coffee or tea at Farley's.
